Speech Pathology for Feeding Difficulties

Feeding is one of the most complex activities we ever have to learn.  Successful feeding encompasses all our organs, muscles and senses.  Children learning to eat sometimes have difficulty with some aspects of the feeding process, and this can lead to learned avoidance behaviours.  Rebecca is trained in the SOS Approach to Feeding, which integrates posture, sensory, motor, behavioural, social/emotional, medical and nutritional factors to comprehensively assess and treat children with feeding problems.  Children learn about different properties of food and how to interact with different types of food in fun, non-stressful ways.
